-  -2Ichiro KAGEYAMAProfessor, Department of Mechanical EngineeringDr. Ichiro Kageyama is a professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Chief Strategic Research Advisor of the Center for Automotive Research (NU-CAR), College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University. And, he is also a guest professor at Nagoya university. He was born in Tokyo in 1949, and graduated from Nihon University’s doctoral course in 1977, acquiring a doctoral degree. Afterward, he worked at the College of Industrial Technology as a research assistant. Since 1994, he has served as a professor of mechanics. His research areas are vehicle dynamics and control, and human-machine systems. He is pursuing several research topics; for example, construction of a driver model for vehicle control, two-wheeled vehicle dynamics and modeling, construction of a personal mobility vehicle and social acceptability, passive characteristics of people on two-wheeled vehicles, and others.He is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers Japan and also a Fellow of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is an Adviser to the International Association of Traffic and Safety Sciences.
