-  -19Published PaperThermal Environment of Tokyo by Geostationary Meteorological SatelliteYuuki UCHIDA,Sadayosi AOYAMA,Tomohito ASAKA,Takashi NONAKA,and Toshiro SUGIMURAHiwamari-8, the next-generation geostationary meteorological satellite, has launched successfully. Highy improved sensor AHI (Advanced Himawari Imager) loaded on the satellite has 16 observation bands (3 for visible, 3 for near-infrared and 10 for infrared), 2.5 minutes observation interval for the whole area of Japan and better spatial resolution than that of former sensor system. Some of observation bands are similar with the ones of Landsat/TM. Therefore, it is possible to compare the earth surface temperature and land-cover processed by Himawari-8 and Landsat. This study deals with the quality of Himawari-8/AHI by comparing with the Landsat-7/ETM+ as an example of Tokyo metropolitan area and discussed the availability to apply for urban thermal environmental monitoring. Focusing on the diurnal temperature variation, the authors confirmed that the heat effect is remarkable in the manufactured land surface can be classified by AHI visible and near infra-red data. As a result, it is found that the Himawari-8/AHI demonstrates the expected performance and and possible to apply to thermal environmental monitoring for the urban. Keywords: Himawari-8, Landsat-7, continuous observation, thermal environment, heat island静止気象衛星による首都圏の熱環境について 新世代静止気象衛星「ひまわり8号」が打ち上げられた.従来より大幅な観測機能の向上が図られ,観測波長帯数の増加と高頻度観測が実現している.Landsat/TMと同様な可視,近赤外,熱赤外域で地球表面からの反射,放射強度を観測した画像データからは,地上分解能は劣るものの土地被覆情報と地球表面温度情報を対比して調査することができる.土地被覆ごとの温度変化に着目すると人工的な構造物で覆われた領域の温度変化が著しいことが確かめられる.首都圏を例として,「ひまわり8号」から得られた人工構造物を示す土地被覆と温度情報をLandsatと比較して検証した.その結果,衛星は期待通りの性能を発揮しており,都市の熱環境の監視,評価することが可能であると思われる.キーワード:ひまわり8号,Landsat-7,高頻度観測,熱環境,ヒートアイランドJournal (掲載誌)JSCE (Earth Environment Symposium on Civil Engineering Society) Vol. 71, No. 5, pp. I_319-I_324, 2015
