He received his doctoral degree in engineering at Tohoku University in 2003 with the thesis entitled “Study of MHD Induction Pump using a Rotating Twisted Magnetic Field for High-Temperature Molten Metal.” From 2005 to 2008, he served as an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo. From 2011 to 2016, he served as an associate professor at the College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University. Since 2016, he has served as a professor at Nihon University. From 1991 to 1996, he also worked as a mechanical engineer in the Space Experiment System Development Department of Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (IHI), Japan. Dr. Ando is a member of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan, the Magneto-Science Society of Japan, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics.
