He received his BSc, MSc, and DSc degrees in physics from Tsukuba University in 1989, 1991, and 1994, respectively. From 1994 to 2000, he worked as a researcher at the Electro-Technical Laboratory (ETL) engaged in laser plasma research. From 2001 to 2020, he was a senior researcher at the National Institute for Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Since 2020, he has been with the College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University, where he is currently a professor. His research interests include carbon-neutral synthetic E-fuel, plasma-assisted combustion, and other plasma applications, such as the plasma actuator.
