- -32Akihiro IWAZAKIProfessor, Department of Conceptual DesignAkihiro Iwazaki is a professor at the Department of Conceptual Design, College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University. After graduating from the Kyushu Institute of Design, he has been engaged in design development at a private company with the following results:1. Dissemination of ergonomics inside and outside the company. Implementation of overall optimal design.2. Development of products and services based on universal design. Improvement of business competitiveness using universal design.3. Contribution to brand improvement through design. 4. Dissemination of design thinking inside and outside the company and participation in design management.Professor Iwazaki is a member of the Japan Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the Japanese Society for the Science of Design.Research Achievements1)Published the ergonomics enlightenment booklet “Ergonomics at Fujitsu". Improved usability for products and customer's workspace using ergonomics. (1985) 2)Created “purpose-specific menus” for Japanese word processor to motivate users and can be used application appropriately. (1995-1997)3)Designed “FACT-V”, an automated teller machine that can be used by Conventional user, users with disabilities and the elderly using the idea of universal design. (2009)4)Designed “Raku-Raku Smartphone F-12C” and other smartphones for seniors. (2012-)5)Improved brand value with aligning operability and design expression from supercomputers to business PCs and business applications. (2011-)6)Promoted new business development “Affective Design” based on Design Thinking. (2015-)
