He received his Bachelor of Science (BS) from Konan University in 1993, his Master of Science (MS) from Konan University in 1995, and his PhD (Doctor of Science) from Saitama University in 2000. From 1999 to 2007, he was a researcher at the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, University of Tokyo. Since 1993, he participated in a Japan-China joint experiment “Tibet ASγ” to explore the origin of cosmic rays. He is conducting research on high-energy cosmic gamma rays and cosmic ray composition. Since 2008, he has been working for Nihon University and continuing to study cosmic rays by participating in the Tibet ASγ experiment, ALPACA experiment, CALET experiment, and so on. He is a member of the Physical Society of Japan (JPS), the Physical Education Society of Japan (PESJ), the Atmospheric and Electrical Society of Japan (SAEJ), the Japan Geoscience Union (JPGU), and the Cosmic Ray Researchers Conference (CRC).Research Achievements1)First Detection of Photons with Energy Beyond 100 TeV from an Astrophysical Source, Physical Review Letters, 123, 051101, July 2019. 2)Influence of Earth-directed Coronal Mass Ejections on the Sun’s Shadow Observed by the Tibet-III Air Shower Array, The Astrophysical Journal, 860, 1-13, June 20183)Evaluation of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field Strength Using the Cosmic-Ray Shadow of the Sun, Physical Review Letters, 120, 3 031101-1 031101-6, Jan. 20184)Exploration of a 100 TeV gamma-ray northern sky using the Tibet air-shower array combined with an underground water-Cherenkov muon-detector array, Astroparticle Physics, 32, 3-4, 177-184, Aug. 20095)Observation of Multi-TeV Gamma Rays from the Crab Nebula using the Tibet Air Shower Array, The Astrophysical Journal Letters, 525, 93-96, Nov. 1999標高4,300m の羊八井高原に展開されたTibet ASアレイ の2000年当時の写真MD検出器のイメージ図
