He graduated from Kyoto University in 1996 and received his M.S. and PhD degrees in agriculture from Kyoto University. He started his career at Oita University as an assistant professor. He was a research scientist at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and then associate professor at Kyushu University. He has been teaching at Nihon University since 2011. His main research areas are enzymology and biochemistry.Research Achievements1)2-[Bis(carboxymethyl)amino]propanoic acid-chelated copper chelate enhances bacterial elimination by sodium percarbonate. Biocontrol Sci., (2020) in press2)Immunohistochemical detection of the delayed formation of nonfibrillar large amyloid-β aggregates. Genes to Cells, 21: 200-211 (2016).3)Enzyme assay for pyridoxal 5'-phosphate by apo-D-amino acid aminotransferase. J. Biosci. Bioeng., 120: 117-119 (2015).4)Monochlonal antibodies against large oval aggregates of Aβ(1-42). J. Biosci. Hydrogen Energy, 37: 9602-9609 (2012).What’s the dierence between toxic oligomer and insoluble bril of amyloid-β, thermophilic and mesophilic enzymes, or salt-tolerant and salt-labile enzymes? Our main interest is tuning their properties based on information of the structural mechanisms which are responsible for the properties.
