－　　－12Yosuke KANOAssociate Professor, Department of Civil EngineeringYosuke Kano is an associate professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Industrial Technology of Nihon University. Dr. Kano received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Nihon University in 2006, since when he has been working for Nihon University. His main research interests are eco-friendly pavement, long-life materials, effective use of recycled resources, health monitoring of pavements, and sustainable recycling. He has worked on joint research with various companies and research institutes in addition to pavement contractors, and has developed some patented technologies. Based on these, he focuses on elucidating the aging and rejuvenation mechanism of bitumen and predicting the pavement’s lifespan. It is a sustainable system that applies water’s solvent performance to separate aggregates and binders from asphalt concrete waste and restore them to their initial quality.
