-  -10Tomohito ASAKA Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering Tomohito Asaka is an associate professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University. He received his Ph.D. from Nihon University in 2007. He was a post-doctoral researcher with the High Technology Research Center, College of Industrial Technology, Nihon University from 2007 to 2008. He attained the position of research assistant at Nihon University in 2008, where he is now an associate professor. He is a licensed surveyor in Japan and also a licensed pilot to operate UAVs in Japan under the UAS Industrial Development Association. He is a member of the Japan Society of Civil Engineering (JSCE), Remote Sensing Society of Japan (RSSJ), Japan Association of Surveyors (JAS) and IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society. He received the best presentation award of the national meeting of JSCE in 2004, the young authors paper award of RSSJ in 2015, and the award of applied survey technology of JAS in 2020. He engaged in collaborative research with JAXA using Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) data as a principal investigator from 2007 to 2011, a government-subsidized projects of MLIT as a co-investigator from 2009 to 2011, and a research of JSPS KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists (B) Grant Number 24760421 as a principal investigator from 2012 to 2014.
