＊日本大学生産工学部教養・基礎科学系専任講師This paper is a report on newly discovered historical materials on the execution and burial of Hideki TOJO and six others executed on December 23, 1948. These materials are stored at the National Archives and Records Administration, and I confirmed their existence in NARA in March 2018. One of the materials describes the point where the ashes of TOJO and others were scattered, and it reads, “We proceeded to a point approximately 30 miles over the Pacific Ocean east of Yokohama where I personally scattered the cremated remains”. This suggests that the ashes may have been scattered in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Japan, Honshu and Chiba Prefecture.This paper introduces these materials as well as aims to discuss the treatment of the war criminals executed as the result of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East held in Tokyo and Military Tribunal in Yokohama.Keywords: The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, The International Military Tribunal for the Far East, Yokohama War Crimes Trials, Hideki TOJO, The 108th Quarter Master Graves Registration Platoon1948（昭和23）年12月23日の深夜，東条英機元首相，広田弘毅元首相，板垣征四郎元陸軍大臣，松井石根陸軍大将，土肥原賢二陸軍大将，木村兵太郎陸軍大将，武藤章陸軍中将の処刑がスガモプリズンで行われ，７名の遺体は横浜市久保山火葬場１）で荼毘に付された後２），その遺灰は太平洋に散布された。この時の処刑の様子は，立ち会った対日理事会（Allied Council for Japan）アメリカ代表のWilliam Joseph Sebaldや教誨師の花山信勝の手記，あるいはGHQ法務局のGeorge T. Hagenの証言 ３）などによって知られていたが，2013年になって米軍側で作成した７名の処刑に関する「執行手順書」の存在が，永田憲史関西大学教授（刑事法）の調査によって確認された４）。永田の調査によれば，この米軍の「執行手順書」はアメリカ陸軍第８軍（以下「第８軍」とする）憲兵隊が作成したもので，アメリカ国立公文書館（The U. S.
