Purpose of the Study and Research QuestionsIn an effort to maximize opportunities for students to par-take in English Cafe and to direct resources effectively this qualitative study seeks to understand how participating stu-dents view the implementation of the program and its activi-ties. Using primary data from surveys, this case study asks about satisfaction with English Cafe and ways to improve the program. This study will contribute to the College’s under-standing of the role English Cafe plays in supporting the en-richment of the linguistic and cultural environment of the CIT. The main research questions are as follows:1. Why do students attend English Cafe and how often?2. What activities do English Cafe participants enjoy?3. What improvements, if any, do the students believe should be made to the program?4.1ParticipantsThe participants in the study are 11 students with varying degrees of English Cafe attendance, all of whom agreed to complete the condential surveys.5. FindingsThe survey found that all of the 11 respondents enjoyed the activities offered in English Cafe, with a few suggesting ideas they would like to see added to the program. Students reported that they attend for three main reasons: to improve their lin-guistic skills, to learn about other cultures, and to socialize. Most respondents report regular attendance at English Cafe.5.1AttendanceAs Table 5 illustrates, most respondents indicated that they attend English Cafe sessions regularly, with four reporting an attendance rate of 87%.5.2Reasons for AttendingStudents attend English Cafe for social and academic rea-sons in almost equal measure, as Fig. 1 shows.5.3Evaluation of English CafeSimilarly, nine of the eleven respondents expressed satis-faction with English Cafe because they are able to fulll both social and academic goals.
